Chicago Marathon, October 12, 2008!

I finally did it! I signed up to run a marathon. I will be running in the Chicago Marathon this October. I had previously thought about it, but when I tore my ACL last November, I gave up on the idea. However, I have recently been released to run and my physical therapist gave me the go-ahead for the marathon. So I'm back on track!
I have also decided to dedicate my effort and ability to running for charity. I chose to run for St. Judes Childrens' Research Hospital and am very excited about the experience. It already is adding meaning to it. I have chosen a goal of raising $2,500.00 (or more!) although the requirement is only $500.00
If you would like to sponsor me in any way, please visit my personal St Jude's fundraising website. Click below or copy and paste the following URL into your browser and check it out! Beware, I will most likely be sending emails your way as well. If you are unable to sponsor I totally understand and will not be discouraged in any way.

When viewing this website you will find a patient story and picture, some facts about St. Judes as well as my personally designed sponsorship programs. Oh, and I will also be adding my training log to this blog so you can track my progress and training program for the next six months if you are interested.

Way to go, Brenda! We are also signing up for a couple of smaller races this summer. It is such a great way to stay motivated and in shape (or in my case get back in shape after Baby #2). Happy trainging!

Good for you, Brenda! And since we LOVE a reason to go to Chicago, a marathon party sounds like fun to us! : ) It'd be fun to cheer you on!
