So the other night I'm giving Paige a bath and she starts putting her hands down by her butt and saying ouch - (I know what you're thinking - that's not it...just a slight diaper rash burning in the tub). I ask her, "Does your bum-bum hurt?" She nods her head and turns herself around so she is facing the back wall of the tub and tries to put her bum up in the air for me to kiss her owie!
Paige like many other little kids, knows that kisses make owies better.
If I did kiss her bum-bum to take make it better...I would never tell you!

Happy Father's Day - my dad

(Should be doing my homework right now). So last night when I left work, a Creedence Clearwater song was on the radio...I turned it up because it made me think of my dad (and mom). One of favorite childhood/teen memories is playing games on Friday night with my family - believe it or not! Yes there were times when I had better things to do on my mind, but it always turned out to be more fun than I expected..and probably more fun than what I thought would have been more fun...especially in hindsight when I'm no longer friends with most of those high school friends, but your parents are always there for you and they are always your friend, forever! Anyway, dad would put in his tapes (yes, tapes not CD's at that time) turn up his favorite songs and mom would cut up some cheese and put some crackers on the table...we'd have some pop, usually Coca-Cola and then mom would pop some popcorn about half way through the game. I can visualize it all - Dad eating his popcorn with his toungue straight out of the bowl to avoid getting greasy hands. I think I need to make myself a compilation CD of all of those songs that he turned up.

Happy Father's Day Dad! - and thanks for all of the wonderful childhood memories you've given me and the security of knowing that you'll always be there for us. I'm glad we're not like animals that grow up into adults and no longer have a special connection with our parents. (It seems like that's how animal families are!)
